Dr. Sondema N. Tarr completed her Bachelor’s in Life Sciences from the New York Institute of Technology in New York City in 2009. Dr. Tarr began her medical education at Kent State University - College of Podiatric Medicine (KSUCPM) in Independence, OH in 2013, and graduated in 2017. Dr. Tarr then went on to complete a three-year surgical residency at University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Tarr graduated from her program in June 2020, and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona where she has been an employed physician for over 2 years. in November 2020, Dr. Tarr obtained board certification through the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Tarr has been featured as a guest speaker and lecturer at her alma mater, KSUCPM. In February 2022, Dr. Tarr returned to Liberia to perform medical volunteer work at JFK Medical Center, In Monrovia, Liberia. One of Dr. Tarr’s goals is for this mission trip to become a yearly trip with a group of physicians.
In her free time, Dr. Tarr loves hiking, swimming, traveling, trying new cuisine, working out, live music events, being with family and friends, and caring for her houseplants.
